Mari joined the MilagreKids North team in March, 2014 after spending nearly 15 years providing behavior analytic programming to children throughout Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Bucks counties. She was very eager to move back to a school-based program after so many years on-the-go as a consultant.
Prior to working as a consultant, Mari held teaching positions in a variety of settings. On the bio-behavioral unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia she worked with students with severe behavioral difficulties and cognitive challenges. Here, she developed strong skills in increasing functional communication for learners of all abilities and analyzing and treating severe problem behavior. At the Pathway School, she served as a teacher in an autistic support classroom which used the principles of applied behavior analysis. She worked hand in hand with the administration to develop a classroom for students who needed both a life-skills based curriculum and behavioral teaching methods.
Mari’s educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Special Education from Beaver College (now Arcadia University). She holds a PA Teaching Certificate in Special Education. Mari did graduate work in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education at Penn State University and Temple University and consistently seeks continuing education opportunities. Mari has also completed the introduction through advance Verbal Behavior workshop series with Dr. Vince Carbone. Mari has extensive experience consulting with classroom teachers on individual programming and classroom management issues, and has given presentations on Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism to both parents and medical professionals.
Mari lives in Warrington with her husband, Dominick, and their daughter Caroline. They have one dog and five cats (all with Disney-themed names!). When she’s not working at Milagre, Mari can be found working as Caroline’s taxi to dance competitions and viola performances as well as leading the educational team at her church.
